About CyberOptics Semi

Plant teams buy measuring instruments for two jobs that sit on the same shift: watch a machine while it runs, and put it back on spec when it drifts. The catalog is built around that pair of tasks — not around a laboratory booking three days later.

We list optical, laser, and vibration tools used on mills, presses, pumps, rotary tables, packaging lines, and semiconductor handlers — equipment that cannot wait for a metrology room. A technician needs a readout at the coupling, the cassette, or the gearbox housing, with a second person still holding a flashlight.

Monitoring is the quieter half of the work. A four-channel vibration logger bolted near a gearbox, or a runout check parked on a spindle, will show a trend before the operator hears a change in tone. Those traces become the baseline for the next overhaul. When the baseline is broken, alignment and dimensional tools take over. Dual-axis laser kits quantify offset and angular error on a shaft. Wafer-shaped sensors ride the same robot path as production stock so pitch and level are named in millimetres, not in the language of “it looks high.”

The correction is then a known number of shims, a known jack-bolt turn, a known teach, or a known grind — not a guess at the flange.

What you will find in the catalog

Pages are written the way a maintenance planner reads them: what the instrument measures, where it mounts, and what tolerance band it is meant to hold. CyberOptics Semi does not replace an OEM manual. We supply the instruments that make that manual usable on a dirty floor, under time pressure, between lots.

Families stay short on purpose. WaferSense covers wireless sensors in wafer form. AlignSense covers dual-axis laser kits on couplings and pump skids. VibeSense covers multi-channel loggers that stay on the machine while it still sounds normal.

Who the desk is for
